In the Privacy Policies & Principles as stated below:

Use of the words ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’, ‘platform’, ‘Marry in a Week’ and ‘app’ refers to and facebook application owned by Gurugram Online Ventures Private Limited based in Gurgaon, India.
Use of the word ‘Member’ and ‘User’ refers to those people who have registered (signed up) on and the facebook app to advertise themselves for the purpose of matrimony and have given explicit consent to share their information and photos on the platform with other people for the purpose of matrimonial matchmaking. It does not include unauthorized usage such as accessing Member email or facebook account with stolen password or without the knowledge of the Member.

1. In order to register (sign up), you give us following information or Facebook permissions to use the following information for matchmaking through the platform:
Your basic account information, which may or may not include: your firstname, lastname, gender, age, religion, mother tongue, telephone number, a user specified password, email, general geographic location and photograph.
Additional marriage relevant information, which may or may not include relationship status, work, education, home town, interests, likes and photos, family details
If you sign-up from Facebook, your basic account information from facebook: name, gender, birthday, current city, email and your profile picture URL.
Additional marriage relevant Information: relationship status, work, education, home town, interests, likes and photos from your facebook.
Your profile will be available to other Members of the platform for the purpose of matrimonial matchmaking.
Members can also make profiles on Marry in a Week on behalf of others – child/ward, sibling or friend. If any such person whose profile has been made by their parent/guardian, sibling or friend wants to remove her/his information, s/he can request removal of the profile after giving us the necessary evidence.

2. Why do we need basic account information and additional marriage relevant information?
We are an online matrimonial service at and also present in the form of a facebook app that does efficient matchmaking for our Members with the help of our unique matchmaking algorithm. In order to do this, we ask for marriage relevant personal information under the heads ‘basic account information’ and ‘additional marriage relevant information’ (both defined above). This personal information, which also includes special cases such as physical disability, is displayed on the Member profile on the platform and is available for viewing and use by the other Members of the platform who are considered good prospective matches by the platform. Members of the platform are free to view and to choose to SafeChat with any other user identified as a prospective match on the platform.

3. How do we use, display, share, or transfer information received from you on the platform?
We allow the Members of Marry in a Week to view profile details of other Members of the opposite sex who are considered to be their prospective matches by the platform. The contact details between two Members are never shared by us. Members can choose to share their contact details after they SafeChat with profiles they like.
If you have connected your Facebook profile, we do not allow regular facebook friends of our Members to view their advertisement/ Profile on the platform, not even when they themselves may be the Members of the platform.
However, we do allow close friends and family of the Members (the Email address given to us by the Members) to view the profiles of other Members who are their prospective matches on the platform, in case that Member chooses to ‘Share this profile’. The idea is to allow Members to take help from family and friends in deciding on a matrimonial match. We do not share your documents which you upload to improve your Trust Score with anyone without your permission.
We do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any personalized information received from our Members on the platform with anyone outside the platform without their explicit permission. On the platform, this information is shared only with other Members of the platform for the purpose of matchmaking. This also includes any personal information gathered while interacting with you.
However, we do reserve the right to disclose all personally identifiable information as per the requirement of law, and in case we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our own rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on us.
We gather information, which is not personally identifiable, such as browser type, IP address and how you came to know about us, from all users in the general administration of our platform.

4. How do we contact the Members?
We use email, sms and Facebook notifications (in case of facebook signup) and call Members on phone to inform the Members about their platform usage. We may also use email to send news and updates regarding the platform and any promotional activity. The Members may choose not to receive such emails by unsubscribing. Emails may also be used for private correspondence with the Members for customer service issues. Our email communication is confidential and is not disclosed except as and when required by law or to protect our Members.

5. How is the user contact information used for Surveys and Contests?
The contact and other information collected for contests may be used to notify the winners and award prizes. The information collected for surveys is used to monitor and improve the platform usage experience.

6. When is your contact information shared with your prospective matches?
Your contact number is only visible to other members when you choose to share it with them. You can SafeChat with any profile you like without revealing your contact details. You can decide to share once you’re convinced about a profile.

7. How do we keep unwanted people out?
We follow a strict security protocol to keep unwanted people out. No Member is allowed to contact another Member of the platform without first verifying their Mobile Number. Additionally, we give each Member a ‘Trust Score’ based on the profile details they have verified. Hence every Member can see other Member’s Trust Score to decide whether the profile is genuine or not.
In case of a signup using Facebook, to prevent fake profiles, we do not allow people who are either married, engaged, separated or in relationships to use the platform.

 8. How do you use cookies?
Cookies are used for following purposes:

  • To identify repeat users;
  • Facilitate the user's ongoing access to and use of the platform; and
  • Gather data to provide better experience.

You can deny the cookie feature from your browser I case you do not want any information collected through the use of cookies. Cookie files can also be deleted from the computer, if you need to. It is to be noted, though, that the use of cookies is necessary if you want to access Marry in a Week. You might not be able to access Marry in a Week and its services if you disable or delete cookies. We use cookies to provide some customized information to our users. Cookies are related to the user’s personally identifiable details.

Cookies are used by Marry in a Week to provide its services, to deliver customised content as per your interests, to remember your password so you do not have to enter it every time you try to login.
Please note that cookies are used only to recollect information sent to your computer from Mary in a Week. We CANNOT access any information not sent by us.

Some of our business partners may use cookies on our site (for example, advertisers). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies.

9. How to remove the app from Facebook?
If you do not want to use the app any longer or want to exit or suspend usage, you can remove it any time you want just by following the path Home ->Settings->Apps ->Delete the app. You can also stop access to your profile by simply changing your password. To restore the access to the app you will need to visit the app.

10. How to get your personal information stored with us deleted?
You can use the ‘Contact Us’ form to request us to permanently delete all your personal information stored in our database. Please carefully take this decision as once we delete your data. Along with your profile, all your information will be irretrievable lost and can never be recovered.

11. How will I know of changes in our privacy policy?
Kindly check the privacy policies frequently, so that you are always abreast of all the minor changes that may have been updated in the privacy policies.
Any major change in our privacy policy will be notified to you prominently on the platform Home page to make sure you are always aware of what information we collect, how we will use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
Any major change in the way we use your personally identifiable information from that stated at the time it was collected from you, will be notified to you by email. You will be given a choice to allow or deny our use of information in this different manner and act accordingly.

12. How to contact us?

13. What to do if you see inappropriate content in someone’s profile or suspect a profile to be fake?
Please use the ‘Contact Us’ form and report the matter giving the Member ID available on the home page of the offending Member. We will take immediate action and confirm the same to you if required.

14. The facebook Statement of Rights and responsibilities and terms of service as provided in must always be complied by the Members of this platform.

15. ‘Marry in a week’ speed dating event

  • We only allow Members of Marry in a Week to participate in our speed dating events, which are strictly hosted for the purpose of finding suitable marriage partners.
  • We do not share participant’s photos, profile, or contact details prior to or after the event with anybody. We only use the first name of the each Member participant during the event.
  • We carefully explain all dos and don’ts through an introductory email before the event and also repeat them at the start of each and every event. This ensures that no Member tries to seek other’s contact or job details or ask for a meeting after the event.
  • We share full names and contact details of only those Member participants who want to meet each other again after the event.
  • Upon mutual match you can choose to either share your email & mobile (recommended) or Just your email address.
  • None of the information gathered about a participant during the registration and event will be ever be shared, exchanged, sold or rented to any third party under any circumstances.
  • Our events are held in the private area of a venue. Removed from the view of passers by and spectators. We don’t allow video shooting, photography or recording of any kind during the event.
  • Our event normally always takes place at a mainstream business hotel in Metro cities on a Sunday/public holiday during the day time.
